The days are definitely warming up here. Unfortunately this house is not exactly up to date as far as being energy efficient as it could be. Also the very very vaulted ceilings don't help either. So needless to say our first electric bill for the month of April was HIGH! We are dreading what July and August will bring! Also we learned the importance of Northern or Southern exposure while living in the southwest! Sadly we have East/West exposure. Not so good. Anyway, live and learn.
Needless to say we will be trying to find many things to do this summer in air conditioned buildings away from our house. Allison will be attending preschool this July and August Monday through Friday. Derek is taking flying lessons again to get his instrument rating (I hope I got that right). His goal is to become a flight instructor on the side and when he retires. Patti is procrastinating as usual. Both of us are doing a low carb diet and have lost some weight. Allison is growing up so fast we can hardly stand it. Anyway, on with the pictures
Allison threw a party for her puppies after she found some old party hats.

One of Allison's classmates gave her free passes to a local (smaller) zoo. So we did that this past Saturday.

She and Daddy took a ride on Ty the elephant. She really loved that!

This is an Eagle's nest! They weight about 4,000 pounds! I never knew that!

Allison feeding the goats. I was disappointed that it wasn't an actual petting zoo where you could go in with the animals. But she didn't seem to mind. The thing she remembers most about this is - Daddy choked the goat! Derek gave one of the goats a piece of food and the goat choked on it, got kind of mad and rammed something with it's horns. Haha!

We had 2 Memorial day BBQ's. One on Sunday and one on Monday. Allison enjoyed them both so much. Here she is looking all partied out. That thing she is holding is a dead grape vine with golf balls on a string from our ladder golf game. She called it planty and was upset it couldn't go in bed with her at the end of the night. Hmm....
