The movers packed us up Monday and Tuesday. They were really fast! In fact they never even really took a lunch break, unlike our friends whose movers took 3 hours for a break each day. So yeah, we were lucky. We also did a trip to the dump to get rid of a lot of "crap". We used our Russian neighbor's trailer. Some of his kids were nice enough to load up all of our trash and the carpets into the trailer. We did the final inspection with our landlord on Friday, and we were happy that the only thing she charged us for was the room we painted, which we agreed upon before we painted. She didn't even do a real walk through with us, so again we were very lucky because we have heard many horror stories of landlords trying to over charge or blame things on you that were not your fault. She was a great landlord!! We also earned 4% interest on our deposit per German law, so that basically paid for the room we had to repaint. Not too bad.
Tuesday night is our official squadron going away dinner, Wednesday night we have dinner with our German neighbors (landlord's son and family) and bright and early Friday morning (3:45 am!!!) the airport shuttle comes to pick us up for our flight at 8am.
I don't really have any exciting pictures to post because we haven't been doing much but hanging out at the hotel, but here is one of Allison relaxing on the couch here at our temp apartment.
