Derek, Alli and I flew to Arlington, SD for Memorial Day. Derek's grandfather and uncle's flags were being retired from the town's "Avenue of Flags". Derek gave the Memorial Day address. The subject was why we celebrate Memorial Day. He did an awesome job!!
Well, we certainly aren't in California anymore. Look at all that flat, open space!

Allison with Chewsy in front of Aunt Nancy's house.

Derek waiting for the ceremony to begin. It was in the high school gym. I love it!!

Allison by Lake Arlington. It's very pretty and looked so American with all the flags. Such a different life then we live here. It was so nice to let Allison experience that.

Allison telling Aunt Norma something very important. This was the luncheon at the Legion hall that followed the ceremony.

Downtown Arlington. I liken it to Mayberry. :)

Getting ready to go back home. Allison had a great time at Nancy's She made friends with a cat named Oreo that likes to hang out at Nancy's. Allison really loves her Aunt Nancy. I think Nancy would make a great preschool teacher. She's really good with children!
